I’m a potter, artist, and musician. Making things has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I grew up in a creative household. My father was a botanist and musician, and my mother was a teacher and painter. We never bought birthday cards; we made them by hand. Making things was simply what we did, and it’s still how I think.

I started out as a music librarian, but I was always drawn to pottery. I dabbled in it while raising my children, then set it aside for a while. Now that my kids are grown, I’ve made clay my full-time work.

I make functional ceramics, both wheel-thrown and hand-built, as well as mosaics from broken pottery, old watches, and other odds and ends. I like pieces that are beautiful and also meant to be used.

I enjoy teaching and working with people, whether they’re commissioning a custom piece or trying clay for the first time.
