Service Description

Join me at my home pottery studio for a calm, personal, and deeply rewarding ceramic experience. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll decorate your own functional ceramic 8" plate while learning the beautiful and expressive sgraffito technique. Working on a handmade, soft clay form prepared by me in advance, you’ll carve through a rich slip surface to reveal the natural white clay beneath. This process allows you to create striking contrasts, delicate illustrations, geometric patterns, or meaningful words—transforming clay into a truly one-of-a-kind functional artwork. You will receive individual attention every step of the way. You’re welcome to bring your own design ideas, or choose from patterns and inspiration available in the studio. After the workshop, I will dry, fire, and glaze your piece to make it fully food-safe and durable. Your finished ceramic will be ready for pickup in a few weeks as a lasting reminder of your creative experience. This workshop is beginner-friendly and open to all levels—no prior experience needed, just curiosity and a love for handmade beauty. This workshop costs $50 per person, and is intended for 2-4 participants. If you need help booking for the right number of attendees, please email me.
